The shorts stop mid-calf, which is really the whole story here. Cargo pockets stack down both legs, heavy with denim, and the length turns them into something closer to cropped pants than shorts in the usual sense — that shift in proportion is what makes the whole outfit read as considered rather than just baggy.
The top half stays out of the way on purpose. A boxy black tee with a small graphic on the chest, a thin silver cross resting against it, a turquoise cuff on the wrist — small, quiet details that don't compete with all that denim below.
Crew socks pulled up and black high-top Converse ground the look without adding bulk, which matters when the shorts are already doing so much visual work. Nothing about the fit looks studied, but the balance between volume up top and volume down low is doing real work.
