A Printed Co-ord, Head to Foot

The whole outfit is one print, top and bottom, and the only reason it reads as relaxed rather than as a suit is the cut. The shirt is boxy and cropped, worn open, and the trousers are wide enough to move independently of the leg — by the time they reach the ankle they are doing their own thing entirely.

Underneath is a plain white ribbed tank, which is the piece holding the whole thing still. Without it the print would have nowhere to stop.

The accessories are all quiet and all practical: a small black bag on a long strap, a cream tote that has clearly been used, flat black shoes built for a day of walking on asphalt. Nothing is announcing itself.

She is walking straight down the middle of the aisle with the market falling away out of focus behind her, which is the thing a flea market gives you that a street corner does not — depth, and a crowd that reads as texture rather than as competition.
