The skirt is the first thing that pulls focus. Black leather in a full, rounded midi shape catches the sun differently than a flat fabric would, giving the whole lower half of the outfit a kind of structure that reads as sculptural rather than just big.
Above it, the fitted blue tie-dye mesh sleeves keep things narrow through the arms and shoulders, so the volume of the skirt has somewhere to land instead of competing with more volume up top. A studded choker sits close to the neck, one more compact detail against all that movement below.
Behind her, the buckle straps on his cargo pants and the hardware on his platform shoes echo the metal on her choker, small connective details between two very different outfits standing next to each other. Both leaning on black, both letting one loud texture (tie-dye mesh, distressed denim) do the talking.
Set against a flea market backdrop of clothing racks and pop-up tents, it reads like two people who came to shop and ended up being the best thing on the block anyway.
