Two Sizes Past Baggy, Still Moving

The denim is the entire photograph. It is cut wide enough that the leg opening is roughly the width of the skateboard he is standing on, and it moves independently of him — there is a whole extra beat where the fabric is still catching up with the push.

What keeps it from being a costume is that the rest is ordinary. A black basketball tee, a navy snapback, black skate shoes, a chain. Nothing else is trying. The jeans are allowed to be the only loud thing, and because he is actually skating in them rather than standing still, they read as clothing rather than as a reference.

The detailing rewards a second look: seaming across the knee, a slight taper that lets them stack on the shoe instead of dragging flat. This is a cut that was designed to be this wide, not a larger size bought deliberately.
